We just talked to the doctor. Dad just lost leg function (paraplegia). They are about to place a lumbar drain. This is not good news but not insurmountable. Pray for him. Dad has gone through a lot. He is awake and aware right now.
*update* He is breathing on his own and they are preparing to remove the breathing tube. They are checking him for diabetes.
They drained a lot of spinal fluid. He had a lot of pressure on his spine. He is moving his legs!! It is a slight movement but hopefully will increase over the next 24 hrs. And his kidneys are functioning. Yeay!
His blood sugar looked good. It could have been high because they are giving him steroids. Breathing tube is out! He said "hi."
What wonderful news after such a scary situation. We will continue to pray for him as well as you Lisa! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving - lots to be thankful for
